FAQ

Got questions? You're in the right place!

Where? When? What Time? Kids?

Our monthly services are held every THIRD Sunday of each month at rotating church locations. Services begin at 6:00 P.M., but come early for gathering at 5:30 P.M.! Our host churches will do various things for children and childcare. You can count on 2 things: there will be childcare, and there will be spiritual formation for the kids as well! Check out our EVENTS page to find out the location of our next worship service!

Will there be preaching? Will there not be preaching? Is this denominational-ly specific? Will we participate in sacraments?

Yes and yes! There will both be preaching and not preaching. Host churches are invited to proclaim the Word however God is leading. So, sometimes you will hear a traditional sermon, sometimes a short homily, and on other occasions you might be invited into experiential forms of worship. Diversity is what it is all about! This gathering is ecumenical - meaning it is not specific to any denomination. We are grace leaning folk who claim baptism as our connection point. We recognize that our baptismal unity is greater than anything that divides us. Neighborhood Worship does not baptize, but would refer you to a local church for conversations with the appropriate parish leader.

What is the goal?

The goal of Neighborhood Worship is for folks from all walks of life to experience worship together.  View our welcoming statement and other details HERE. Oh, and, you might hear us say that one of our goals is to just not be jerks for one hour. That is pretty important to us as well!
